Police hunt motorcyclist after five vehicles set alight

Chon Buri police a hunting a motorcyclist who allegedly set fire to five vehicles in Phanthong district early on Monday.

Phanthong police were told at 3.30am that two cars by shophouses on Suk Prayoon Road had caught fire. Firefighters took about 20 minutes to put out that blaze.
While police were questioning the owner of the two cars, Suchart Thadanukul, 68, they were told about another car also being on fire in Soi Wat Nong Tamlueng.
Firefighters took a further 30 minutes to put out that blaze but the vehicle was badly damaged.
The car owner, Charoen Meekhunthod, 50, said he had been woken up by neighbours, who told him his car was on fire.
Police were later informed that a van and pickup truck were set alight in the same soi about two kilometres away from Charoen's house.
Police checked CCTV footage of the final attack and spotted a motorcyclist stopping by the two vehicles, pouring petrol over them and setting them alight.
