Mentally ill woman falls to death from Bangkok apartment building
A mentally ill woman staying with her son on the fourth floor of an apartment building in Bangkok’s Phra Khanong district stepped on the rain shade at the back of her room and fell to her death early Friday.
Phra Khanong police were alerted to the incident at Prasomsup Apartment on Soi Sukhumvit 93 in Bang Chak subdistrict at 1am.
The woman was identified as Suk That-inchan, 57. She fell through rain shades covering the third, second and first floors to the ground floor.
She was staying with her ladyboy son, Sura-anong That-inchan, 20.
Sura-anong said his mother had a mental illness and was being treated at Si Thanya Hospital. He said he locked his room when he went out to work at a restaurant in Nana area at 8pm and he normally returned to his room at 2am.
The back door was left unlocked and his mother went out to the balcony and climbed over to stand on the rain shade.
