Woman arrested for conning part-time job seekers via Facebook into parting with cash
A woman has been arrested for allegedly deceiving hundreds of part-time job seekers via Facebook into losing more than Bt110,000 in total, deputy tourist police chief Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal said on Tuesday.
The suspect was identified as Porntip Boonma, 31.
Surachet said Porntip had offered part-time jobs of sorting beads and elastic bands by colour, on condition that each person must first pay a starting fee of Bt200.
She had allegedly received over Bt110,000 from her victims, prior to disappearing and leaving them jobless.
The victims then filed complaints with the police.
