Environment ministry looks to mobilise support with numerous fairs

Agencies under the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry are set to mobilise across the kingdom for fairs from next week to mid-March.

Wijarn Simachaya, the ministry’s permanent secretary, said the ministry wishes to invite people to participate in taking care of natural resources and the environment and introduce the work done by agencies under the ministry and provide opportunities to clarify issues and receive complaints first hand.
“The ministry is a key body in managing natural resources and the environment of our country and aims to achieve key turning points as part of the government’s policies. One of those is turning people’s doubtfulness into trust in the government so they give support. This is the opportunity for the country and the people to steer the country forward together,“ said Wijarn.
The fairs, with four in the northern province of Phrae, the northeastern province of Khon Khaen, the central province of Suphan Buri and the southern province of Surat Thani, would see a series of activities ranging from seminars, exhibitions, forestry Pracha Rath flea markets, and environmental clinics.

The series of regional events is unprecedented, being held when the country is moving toward the election set on March 24.
