CCTV footage shows the moment an Australian launched a shocking and apparently unprovoked attack on the man.
As the customer was walking out of the bar, the assailant got up and whacked the man over the head with a bottle.
The attacker has been identified as a 48-year-old Scottish-born Australian, Alan William Toner.
He can be seen on CCTV walking behind the victim as he attempts to leave the bar.
ThaiVisa reports that Toner then smashes the bottle over the victim’s head, who then falls to the ground, landing on the sidewalk outside the bar.
Staff and other customers rush to help the unconscious man.
The footage has only surfaced now after being shared on social media, but the incident reportedly happened in a bar in Pattaya last month.
It is believed that the attacker was arrested and is currently in jail awaiting a court hearing.
