Amnuayporn Chondamrongkul, Forestry deputy director general, said the department will turn its 265 field bases around the country into service spots for motorists.
She said tired tourists could stop to drink water or coffee and use the toilets and rest for a while during the long drive home from Friday to next Wednesday.
Each service spot will be manned by six forestry officials and will have a vehicle that can rush people to hospital if necessary, she added.
