Prachin Buri governor takes part in water spraying to reduce dust problem

Prachin Buri Governor Piboon Hattakitkosol participated in a water spraying activity today (February 4) at Wat Bu Yai Bai School. The spraying aimed to help reduce PM2.5 dust particles in the province.

The activity brought together the provincial administrative organisation, the sub-district administrative organisation and other government agencies.
The PM2.5 dust level in the province has been found to be over the safety level, or 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
Forest fires and farmers’ burning of sugarcane and rice-stubble fields have reportedly been blamed for causing the pollution problem in Prachin Buri.
The industrial estate in Sri Mahapho district was an area with the highest level of pollution, due to the presence of more than 1,000 factories in the area.
The PM2.5 level in the province had reached 125 micrograms per cubic meter in the past few days, before decreasing to 50 micrograms today.
