BEN TRE — A man returning from South Korea has been found to have broken self-quarantine, travelling 80km from HCM City to the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre, on Tuesday, according to Ben Tre Province’s Department of Health.

Director of the department Ngo Van Tan said the man was asked to self-quarantine at his house in HCM City after flying back from South Korea, due to the risks of spreading the novel coronavirus.

However, he reportedly travelled to Phu Tuc Commune, Chau Thanh District in Ben Tre Province.

The department has immediately informed HCM City’s functional forces to escort the man to the city’s quarantine areas.

The department has checked all people the man was in contact with.

Currently, there are 14 cases of involuntary home quarantine and one case under the hospital’s quarantine in the province.

As many as 51 cases have successfully completed a two-week quarantine and returned home. — VNS
