New infection cases in Wuhan drop to single-digit
Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in China and the epicentre of the Covid-19 outbreak, recorded eight new cases of infection on Wednesday (March 11), said the National Health Commission today (March 12). It was the first time the city reported a single-digit rise in new cases since the epidemic began.
Spread of Covid-19 in China has shown signs of slowing down in the past seven days, mainly due to stringent measures such as ban on travel and public gatherings. Wuhan, with a population of 11 million, has been on lockdown.
