Anutin: We haven’t sent officials to hotels to discuss quarantine facilities

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul clarified today (May 26) that his ministry has not sent officials to discuss with hotel operators the possibility of using their rooms as state quarantine facilities in exchange for money, as reported recently.

He advised those who have clues of such “illegal” actions to report the matter to the government.
Anutin made the statement when visiting Government House to observe his officials and others get flu vaccinations.
The minister mentioned that US cardiologist Eric Jeffrey Topol has praised Thailand as one of the five countries that have successfully dealt with Covid-19.
Regarding assistance for tourism businesses that will be proposed by the tourism and sports minister to the Cabinet this Friday (May 29), Anutin said that although the businesses would be allowed to restart, they must abide by anti-virus measures in this “new normal” until a vaccine is available.
