Group of 200 Thai students flying back from Sudan next week

The first group of Thai students stranded in Sudan will return to their homeland on June 24, former senator Damrong Puttan said.

He said he had received information from an official at the Thai Embassy in Cairo, which is responsible for Thai people in Sudan since there is no Thai Embassy in that country. Out of 750 students 401 wished to return to Thailand.
All of them have passed a test for Covid-19 and a group of 200 will first return on a special flight to Suvarnabhumi Airport before dawn.
Most of the students had got scholarships from International University of Africa, Omdurman Islamic University and University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences.
Thai students reportedly find Sudan one of the best countries to study Arabic.
