Six returnees from Egypt, Saudi Arabia found infected with Covid-19

Six new Covid-19 infections were confirmed in state quarantine with no deaths over a 24-hour period, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported on Thursday (July 30), the 66th day without any domestic cases since May.

Of the new cases, four are students who returned from Egypt and two – a student and household helper – returned from Saudi Arabia. They are all asymptomatic.

As of Thursday, the total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 3,304 (367 found in state quarantine) – 135 are being treated, 3,111 have recovered and 58 have succumbed to the virus.

Globally, the total number of confirmed cases has gone beyond 17 million, up by 294,000 (the highest daily report number since the outbreak). So far, 10.6 million have recovered, and 670,000 died.
Thailand is still ranked 106th globally in terms of Covid-19 cases, while the United States still tops the list with 4.56 million cases, followed by Brazil with 2.55 million and India with 1.58 million.
