House speaker gets data on MP who demanded Bt5m bribe
House Speaker Chuan Leekpai announced on Wednesday (August 19) that he has received information about the MP who had allegedly told Department of Groundwater Resources’ chief Sakda Wichiensilp that a Bt5 million bribe would help speed up approval of his department’s budget proposal.
Chuan said that though the name of the MP is not provided, the confidential files do include the phone number.
The House speaker has said that justice will prevail and that he has forwarded the information to Sira Jenjaka, chairman of the House panel on legal affairs, justice and human rights, to deal with the matter.
