Locals, migrant workers queue up for tests after Covid-19 scare in Mae Sot

Hundreds of Thais and migrant workers queued up at the Pa Charoen Market in Tak’s Mae Sot district on Tuesday morning to be tested for Covid-19 after three Myanmar drivers, who had come to the district to pick up products, were found to be infected.

The scene was described as chaotic, while staff said they expected to test as many as 3,000 people who live near the border.

The queue of people waiting to get tested was nearly a 100-metre long, and officials were expected to shift to a community of migrant workers later in the day.
