Temperatures go up in upper Thailand, rains ease in South


The weak high-pressure covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea leading to increase in temperature by 1-3 degrees Celsius. The cool to cold weather with morning fog continues.

All vehicles should move with caution due to poor visibility, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Sunday.

The weak northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South with less rain in the South.

The 24-hour forecast for different regions:

North: Cool with fog in the morning and 1-3°C rise in temperature; minimum temperature 16-19°C, maximum 31-36°C; cold to very cold on mountaintops with minimum temperature 4-12°C; southwesterly winds at 10-20 km/hr.

Northeast: Cool with fog in the morning, 1-3°C rise in temperature; minimum temperature 16-19°C; maximum 31-33°C; cold on mountaintops with minimum temperature 9-12°C; northeasterly winds at 10-20 km/hr.

Central: Cool with fog in the morning, 1-3°C rise in temperature; minimum temperature 21-23°C, maximum 34-36°C; southerly winds at 10-20 km/hr.

East: Cool with fog in the morning, 1-3°C rise in temperature; minimum temperature 19-24°C, maximum 32-35°C; easterly winds at 15-30 km/hr; waves about a metre high.

South (east coast): Partly cloudy with isolated rain; minimum temperature 23-24°C, maximum 31-34°C; easterly winds at 15-30 km/hr; waves about a metre high.

South (west coast): Partly cloudy with isolated rain; minimum temperature 23-26°C, maximum 34-35°C; easterly winds at 15-30 km/hr; waves about a metre high and 1-2 metres offshore.

Bangkok and its vicinity: Fog in the morning with 1-3°C rise in temperature; minimum temperature 23-25°C, maximum 33-36°C; southerly winds at 10-20 km/hr.
