The department also said an easterly wind prevails over the Gulf and the South, causing scattered thundershowers in the lower South.
Fom March 31-April 2, a low pressure cell over the Gulf of Bengal will move into the Andaman sea, bringing more rain to the South. Waves in the west coast will be more than 2 metres high during thundershowers.
