Thundershowers forecast all over Thailand with isolated heavy rains in some areas

The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Monday that the southwest monsoon across the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand is strengthening.

More rain is forecast for upper Thailand with isolated heavy rain in the Northeast, the eastern part of the North and the South.

Strong winds are expected to triggers waves up to 2-4 metres high and above three metres high during thundershowers in the Andaman Sea.

People should beware of the severe conditions. All ships should proceed with caution, while small boats should keep ashore, the department said.

Meanwhile, the depression over the upper Bay of Bengal is expected to develop into a cyclone storm by Monday and would strengthen the southwest monsoon prevailing across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf during May 24-29, the department said.
