Hot day forecast for Bangkok, upper Thailand with a few thundershowers
The weaker southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand would result in lesser rains throughout the country, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Friday.
The Andaman Sea and the Gulf are also likely to see weaker winds and waves.
Meanwhile tropical storm “Choi-Wan” in the upper South China Sea would tend to move north towards the southern part of Taiwan on Friday, with no effect on Thailand, the department said.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot day with isolated light rains; temperature lows of 27-29 degrees Celsius, highs of 34-39°C.
North: Hot day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-28°C, highs of 37-39°C.
Northeast: Hot day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-28°C, highs of 36-38°C.
Central: Hot day with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-28°C, highs of 36-40°C.
East: Hot day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 26-28°C, highs of 33-38°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26°C, highs of 32-37°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 32-34°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
