Death toll increased by 53, while 6,950 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.
The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 1,967,999 – 1,849,968 of whom have recovered, 98,367 are still in hospitals and 19,664 have died.
Separately, another 219,782 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 455,543 their second shot and 28,256 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 80,221,553.
According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 250.26 million on Sunday, 226.54 million of whom have recovered, 18.66 million are active cases (72,995 in severe condition) and 5.06 million have died (up by 6,305).
Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 47.31 million, followed by India with 34.35 million, Brazil with 21.87 million, the UK with 9.27 million and Russia with 8.75 million.
