Thailand recorded 3,618 Covid-19 cases and 38 deaths on Wednesday.

Ministry of Public Health reported on Wednesday (December 8) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 3,618 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 40 of whom have been found in prisons.

Death toll increased by 38, while 5,775 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 2,152,384  – 2,067,149 of whom have recovered, 64,200 are still in hospitals and 21,035 have died.

Separately, another 89,443 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 127,537 their second shot and 46,704 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 95,879,742.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 267.41 million on Wednesday, 240.84 million of whom have recovered, 21.28 million are active cases (87,968 in severe condition) and 5.29 million have died (up by 7,708).

 

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 50.27 million, followed by India with 34.66 million, Brazil with 22.16 million, the UK with 10.56 million and Russia with 9.86 million.
