Thailand recorded 3,684 Covid-19 cases and 26 deaths on Thursday.

Ministry of Public Health reported on Thursday (December 16) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 3,684 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 144 of whom have been found in prisons.

Death toll increased by 26, while 4,531 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 2,181,960 – 2,115,232 of whom have recovered, 45,442 are still in hospitals and 21,286 have died.

Separately, another 109,170 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 168,342 their second shot and 115,935 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 98,440,417.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 272.49 million on Thursday, 244.87 million of whom have recovered, 22.27 million are active cases (89,282 in severe condition) and 5.35 million have died (up by 7,822).

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 51.29 million, followed by India with 34.72 million, Brazil with 22.2 million, the UK with 11.01 million and Russia with 10.1 million.
