Thailand records 4,924 Covid-19 cases and 37 deaths on Thursday

Ministry of Public Health reported on Thursday (May 26) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 4,924 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19 in the country.

Death toll increased by 37, while 5,560 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

Cumulative cases in the country since January 1, 2022 are at 2,206,239.
 

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 4,429,674 – 4,353,198 of whom have recovered, 46,595 are still in hospitals and 29,881 have died.

Separately, another 17,310 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 52,624 their second shot and 76,131 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 136,955,772.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 529.76 million on Thursday, 500.34 million of whom have recovered, 23.12 million are active cases (37,973 in severe condition) and 6.31 million have died (up by 1,630).

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 85.44 million, followed by India with 43.14 million, Brazil with 30.85 million, France with 29.41 million and Germany with 26.21 million.
