Politics and Economy are inseparable: Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

NLD Party's Chairperson Daw Aung San Suu Kyi spelled out that the politics and the economy could never be separated, while meeting with her party members at the opening ceremony of NLD Party Office in Latha Township of Yangon West District.

She said, “What I would like to say is not only in our country, but also in other nations. Some accepted and believed the wrong concept that the economy is nothing to do with the politics. Economy and politics are very much interrelated. I would like cite an example. Last two days ago, the rules and regulations for the import of vehicles have been changed. This change has impact over the car market. The change of law is concerned with the politics. We all must understand that the act and work in the politics has impacts over the business sector. Therefore, the politics and the economy could not be separated or divided.”

She continued that if a country could not go straight forward on the path of politics, then the economy is not likely to development in the long-term. A country needs political stability for the economic development. Moreover, stability requires trust and confidence to create firm and sound economic structure.
