The 8th annual meeting of the Joint Border Trade Cooperating and Coordinating Committee will also take place alongside the three-day trade fair, scheduled to begin on December 9, according to the Republic of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
The companies interested to participate in the fair will have to register with the UMFCCI.
Myanmar is planning to hold 100 exhibits to showcase the country’s jewels, gems, handicrafts, timber, beans, traditional medicines and marine products.
The government has been organising regional trade fairs since 2000 to stop illegal border trade.
After China restricted import of Myanmar goods like rice, jade and raw leather citing poor quality or imposing heavy tax two months ago, many Myanmar traders started selling those across the border illegally at cheaper rates.
