World Economic Forum to bring business opportunities

The upcoming World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia will bring benefits and business opportunities to Myanmar, according to Sushant Palakurthi Rao, WEF senior director.

The three-day World Economic Forum on East Asia will be held in Nay Pyi Taw from tomorrow. President Thein Sein will deliver a speech at the Forum. The pre-event of WEF for media was held at Traders Hotel Yangon on Friday. It was attended by Union Minister Soe Thane, Union Minister Dr.Kan Zaw, Minister Htay Aung, Deputy Minister Sett Aung from Myanmar and the WEF’s Sushant Palakurthi Rao and Fon Mathuros.
Sushant said, “International CEOs will attend the forum and discuss business development in Myanmar. The forum will bring better opportunities in the short term and the long term.”
He added that the forum would also tackle issues that could cause a slowdown in Myanmar’s economic growth, including land grabs and ethnic tensions.
