Iskandar Rahmat, a senior staff sergeant with the Singapore Police Force, was yesterday charged with the double murder of car workshop owner Tan Boon Sin, 66, and his son, Tan Chee Heong, 42.

Dressed in a black T-shirt, the accused appeared calm and expressionless in the courtroom yesterday.
The bodies of the father and son were found 1 kilometre apart in Kovan estate – the older man was discovered dead in a Hillside Drive terrace house, while his son’s body was found near Kovan MRT station.
Iskandar, 34, faces the death penalty if he is found guilty.
Iskandar, who has been suspended from duty pending court proceedings, will be remanded at Central Police Division lock-up. The court will reconvene to hear the case on July 22.
