Cancer patients top list of those seeking treatment in M'sia

The number one disease Myanmar nationals go to Malaysia to seek treatment for is cancer, staff at agencies that help arrange the service said.

Other major treatments are for bone, nerve and joint disorders and diseases, they said, adding that about 50 per cent of these are knee transplants.
“It is mostly cancer patients going there,” an official at Sai Dhabi Hospital in Malaysia said, adding that knee-joint transplants were the second most frequent operation. The official said the number of nationals seeking treatment at the hospital was increasing every year.
