No progress on Dhammazedi bell search

The Dhammazedi bell search team leader San Lin has remained silent on the progress of the salvage operation.

Contacted by Daily Eleven on Wednesday, he insisted that a statement would be issued soon, but not now. He made no further comment on the search.
"The process continues. We plan no statement for now, but it will be released soon," San Lin said.
The search for the 300-tonne bell started on August 5. The team announced on August 26 that the bell was located and that it would be salvaged within a few days.
Some Yangon residents, gathering at the riverbank to observe the search, said the team hid something.
The bell was cast during the reign of Mon King Dhammazedi in 1484, according to historical records. It has been sitting on the riverbed for more than 400 years and is sure to create a lot of excitement if it is located and brought to the land.
