Panel suggests at least 12 floors for Myanmar condominium buildings

A condominium must have at least 12 floors and include a parking lot for each unit of the condo, according to Myanmar's Upper House Bill Committee in suggesting improvements to the condominium bill.

The committee also pointed out the need for security measures in condominiums.
“Our committee discussed with concerned officials from the Ministry of Construction and members of the Upper House’s political, economic and legal commission. So, a new condominium bill consisting of 12 chapters and 39 sections has been drafted and distributed,” said Soe Myint, member of the Bill Committee.
The committee has suggested that the minimum land area for a condominium project should be at least 10,000 square feet instead of the current one acre.
It also highlighted that some sections in the condominium bill submitted by the Lower House should be moved to the bylaws, and some should be placed under the administration of regional governments.
