“A protest will be held in the evening of November 12 and the protesters have designated Hledan flyover as a rallying place. They will chant anti-government slogans after passing in front of the US embassy,” said Myat Kyaw from the group.
“We want western countries, including the US which support Myanmar’s democratic system, to notice and review the current political situation in Myanmar. Moreover, the protest also aims to support Myanmar’s democratic system as the western countries are laying down the right decisions,” Myat Kyaw told the Eleven Media Group on November 5.
The activists and those who support the constitutional amendment and also reject the PR system will be participating in a protest. They have sought official permission for the protest.
“We have already submitted a permission request to the Kamaryut Myoma Police Station on November 4. There will be 100 protesters. Even if permission is not granted, we’re going to stage a protest,” Myat Kyaw added.
