In the pink with Khobkhun

Four years ago, TV producer Phurath "Chomphu" Khanchanapornphong moved away from the monitors and brought her creative talents to the fashion circuit, launching a collection of T-shirts with cool messages for kids on the label Phu-Ka-Lan, which is derived from the names of her children. 

Inspired by the "I Love Mom" slogan her son painted on his white tee, Phurath offers more than 200 designs for kid's colourful shirts. She launched her first collection at the popular Thailand Baby Best Buy fair, where her cotton shirts were snapped up by local mothers hungry for something new.

Her tees bear such simple, short messages as "No photo", "ham tee" (don't hit), seng ped ("bored"), and "mirror image of my dad and mum". She's also expanded her designs to meet the demands of more discerning shoppers with such colourful, elegant outfits as a sweet coat with a flower motif, a puffy overcoat with tiger stripes, smart mini coat and tartan dungarees under the Chomphuholic label. 

"I love dressing up my children," says Phurath "I want to offer smart and quality apparel for kids at reasonable prices."

Five months ago, Phurat launched her newest "Khobkhun" brand at the annual Bangkok International Fashion and Leather Fairs. This offers a range of cotton streetwear-style gear in black, white and grey. 

"Khobkhun focuses on streetwear outfits that can be mixed and matched," says Phurath "The clothes are also on sale in Hong Kong, China and Singapore." 

Well cut and playful in the details, the clothes are made from soft cotton to ensure children enjoy the maximum comfort. You can find harem pants, brown blouses with grey collars, white shirts with ornamental fringes, t-shirts with a stripy design, overalls, scarves, blouses with big bows, jackets and skirts.
