9/11 cartoons in poor taste
In your September 12 editorial page, cartoonist Stephane Peray (Stephff) submitted a cartoon of the Twin Towers tragedy. This cartoon was at best confusing as to intent, and appeared to be a critical satire of the 9/11 events. Ninety countries had deaths
Stephff shows the Towers smoking cigarettes in a laid-back attitude. What was he smoking when he did this horrible cartoon? Also, Stephff again deliberately and openly attacks Americans with the September 13 cartoon implying that the USA is looking for trouble so that we can make an agenda. Stephff, I tried to find out what country you are from [France. Ed.] to see if your country sustained civilian deaths. The US is fighting terrorism at a horrible cost and everyone is sitting around expecting the USA to keep the peace.
There are very few countries outside of Venezuela that actively promotes hatred of my country. Thailand is our strongest Asian ally and friend, and we spend approximately $US1 billion annually training our ally.
What is your problem? Are you trying to be today's Jane Fonda? Don't hate.
