Still there are those who will cash in

Price gouging and profiteering are unfortunately experienced during disasters all over the world.

It is a disappointing part of human nature that is fortunately usually overwhelmed by those who individually and jointly help each other in times of need, personal stress and loss. It is often those with the least who are the most gracious and selfless.
Natural disasters like the one Thailand is experiencing are also a time when the corporate world and people and governments from other lands step in to help. Sadly, Air Asia  was all too happy to put windfall corporate profits ahead of service and goodwill at a time of need.
At a time when there was a clamour by people of all economic conditions to get loved ones to safety, Air Asia, it seems, could not resist the opportunity to raise ticket prices for flights out of Bangkok to twice their normal rate in some cases. For those with money, a minor inconvenience. For the have-not’s and those trying to cobble together enough money to help  a loved to safety, a huge insult.
So, I would suggest Air Asia consider the motto: “Now Everyone Can Fly. Really? No, not really.”
