What to do with all those sandbags?
Since the big clean-up has already commenced in many areas after the receding of the floods, it is obviously unavoidable to see the once-valuable sandbags, millions of them, big and not so big, become a burden.
They need to be quickly removed from thousands of homes and streets, and many will end up in the drains, of course.
I’d like to suggest that “sand banks” be set up in every municipality and at district offices, for future (next year?) usage. Even the once-green lawns of every household should dedicate a corner for family a sand bank.
