Do good but don't gloat

Before Thaksin, Thailand was without form, and void.

The poor were left in the dark. He came in and said, “Let there be light.” And there was light. And he said, “Let there be a universal healthcare, so the poor are cared for when they are ill.” And Thaksin saw the healthcare plan, that it was good. He called it the Bt30 plan. And he said, “Let there be an airport in the midst of the swamps; let it be the hub of Asian transportation.” And Suvanarbhumi was born. And Thaksin said, “Let there be a village fund for the poor to invest in family businesses to supplement their incomes.” And Thaksin saw everything that he had made, and, beheld, it was very good.
The only fault with Thaksin was that he ignored an old Thai adage: “Do good deeds but don’t be conspicuous, for it will harm you. Nobody wants to see you famous.”
