Separating truth from propaganda

Ref: "Israel doesn't threaten on a daily basis", Letters, April 11

Andy Leitner uses the Israeli version of a famous saying – lies, damn lies and propaganda – to attack a very sensible letter containing some unpalatable truths about Israel.
Iran has never threatened Israel – read carefully “Israel SHOULD BE thrown into the sea”. Iran has said it will respond to any Israeli/US attack. On the contrary, Israel has threatened to bomb Iran many times, the latest being Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to the US where he asked for their support in attacking Iran.
As for the IAEA, it has not found any new evidence of nuclear weapons development but has repeated old biased “intelligence” reports and lost its independence since the departure of Mohamed ElBaradei.
Saudi Arabia and some Gulf dictatorships have been subject to the United States’ divide and rule policy (Sunni versus Shia) which has the twin “advantage” of Iran bashing and lucrative weapons sales.
It’s a pity that Israel, instead of trying to resolve the long-standing Palestinian problem (the real Middle East struggle), continues to appropriate more land for its illegal settlements which kills any prospect of a peaceful agreement.
