At last Thursday’s wedding party, Jaa said he actually registered the marriage in December 2010 and that he kept it secret because busy making the 3D sequel to “Tom-Yum Goong”.
The story of how they met reads like a movie script.
“I met her when I went to film ‘Ong-Bak 3’ in Rayong,” Jaa told his guests of how he met the daughter of a Rayong hotel owner. “She served food to me and I fell for her.”
Jaa then followed his mother’s advice – if you follow in love, get that girl to a temple.
“I took her to the temple on New Year’s Eve and we spent the whole day there, including the countdown, and I knew straight away that she was the right person.”
Jaa’s proposal is also right out of the movies. They were watching a soap opera, which happened have a proposal scene, which Jaa imitated the scene by kneeling down in front of Boong-gyi. She thought he was making fun of the TV show, but Jaa, who’s not known for joking around, was serious.
Now the action star says he couldn’t be happier as his wife is now more than one month pregnant.
“I can’t describe how happy and excited I am to be a father,” he says.
A Bt8-million wedding gift from Sahamongkol Film chief Somsak “Sia Jiang” Techaratanaprasert will make a nice welcome for the little Jaa.
Quick change
Most guys, when faced with attending a string formal functions wouldn’t think twice about wearing the same suit. But that just won’t do for Channel 3 boss Pravit Mallenont.
Faced with three back-to-back wedding parties to attend last month, he wore a different outfit for each one.
On April 21, he was guest of honour at the Plaza Athenee for the wedding of actor Shahkrit Yamnarm and Wirithipa “Woonsen” Pakdeeprasong. He then travelled to Rama IX Park for the ceremony of Maj-General Patchara Rattakul and MR Srikamrung Yukol, changing along the way into something more befitting a royally sponsored wedding.
The next day saw a fresh change of clothes as he travelled to Khao Yai for the nuptials of Songkran Techanarong and Tassaorn “Aff” Pakcharoensuk. Hello magazine noticed and said if there is an award for Best Dressed Man at a Wedding, Pravit would be the winner.
