Truevisions and Major Cineplex have joined hands to offer fans a whole new experience of watching football, starting with one of the EPL’s most glamorous fixtures.
“Imagine how it would feel to watch the two English clubs with a long history of fierce rivalry battle it out on a four-storey-high screen with a cinema sound system,” Ong-art Prapakamol, chief commercial officer at TrueVisions, explained. “We are going to give that unique experience to football fans in Thailand.”
The match at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium will be projected with the new HD 4K technology, which boasts picture quality four times clearer than ordinary digital.
“We are the leaders in the sports broadcasting business. We’ve shown many world-class sport tournaments but the English Premier League is the jewel in our crown. There is no question about it.
“In the past, only our Platinum and Gold package clients could watch the EPL. Now we want to give it to more people. That’s why we struck a deal to show some EPL matches on the free-to-air Channel 3.
“The event will help us reach more fans. I am sure it will be interesting as no one has ever held an event like this before. I, myself, won’t miss the opportunity to see with my own eyes what watching such a big match in a cinema feels like,” said Ong-art.
The Anfield fixture is the first of the five big sports events that Truevisions are showing in theatres. The other cinematic treats to look out for are wrestling’s “WWE Hell in The Cell” in November, followed by Manchester United v Liverpool at Old Trafford in January and American football’s Super Bowl match in February. Last in line is another wresting event, “WWE Wrestle Mania”, in April.
Fans can participate in the event by registering at Facebook.com/truevisions for the chance to win four seats per application. Major Cineplex customers can win the tickets via a quiz contest at Facebook.com/majorgroup, while M Generation members can earn the tickets at Facebook.com/mgencard.
