Sad to say, this is typical for Thailand.
For cases involving death it is typical that Thai authorities investigate and find no crime.
Man bound and gagged jumps from his hotel balcony. Verdict: suicide.
In the rare cases that they do find a crime, the blame is placed either on the victim or on some passer-by.
Auto accident – Thai vehicle clips foreigner and foreigner is at fault. This has happened to friends and happened to my wife – motorbike came from the side and rammed her car.
Police saw a foreign name and she went before the judge, even with witnesses that it was the motorbike that caused the accident. She paid a significant fine for being the wife of a foreigner.
Stupid, but TIT.
