Now renamed D M Home, luxury furnishing outlet Decor Mart offers leading brands from the US and Europe
When Decor Mart first opened its doors some 20 years ago, its focus was on supplying quality tiles and sanitary ware for the Bangkok market. Today, the company runs one of the biggest furniture showrooms on upmarket Soi Thonglor, offering a selection of luxury furniture, home furnishings and built-in kitchens sets by world-class brands.
Kamolrat Jirapongwattana recently took the reins as managing director and renamed the company D M Home.
“We’re not just targeting the very rich but also young families who want to furnish their first homes with quality design products,” she says. “We can offer the latest collections of furniture, both modern and classic, from such leading designer brands as Dorothy Draper and Bunny Williams Home.
“We want to be an inspiration for people, not only a place to shop. We focus on quality and contrary to popular belief, we don’t stock only expensive furniture.”
The spacious design centre is spread over the ground floor of Park Thonglor Tower with sections devoted to the home decor items, furniture and lighting, plus sanitaryware and kitchens, most of it imported from Europe and the US.
Among the brands are Ralph Lauren Home, Armani/Casa, Fendi Casa and Versace Home. Kamolrat says newcomer Bunny Williams Home is proving popular with the younger set, offering an appealing undisciplined look that has a balance of patterns, textures and colours.
Novamobili from Italy uses a water-based lacquering system that reduces atmospheric pollutant emissions by 95 per cent to produce a full range of smart, modern furniture that is perfect for urban life in a compact space.
Dorothy Draper by Kindel combines old-world glamour with a current lifestyle and a wink of reverence for the past.
