I love Bangkok. As I look at the wonderful new high-rise buildings, I am amazed. But I also see eyesore buildings throughout Bangkok. Some are 50-plus years old and have not been painted since being built. I know Thais who own some of these eyesores, and
I think the government should decree by law that all buildings must be painted every ten years. Impossible to enforce? No! Give them six months to paint the buildings. If they ignore the law, cut off the electricity and water and only turn them back on when they produce a written contract to paint the buildings.
