Re: "119-year-old Thai to be listed in book of world records", National, July 11.

It’s gratifying that a great grandfather, Kamu Tongnumchokdee, a 119-year-old Karen man in Mae Hong Son’s Pang Mapha district, will be honoured in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s oldest person. In addition, two other people who are aged more than 100 years also live in this area.
It’s almost unbelievable that Kamu lives alone, prepares his own food, and earns a living by himself, but he has a healthy life, a good mood, smiles all the time, and is not forgetful.
I would like the authorities to use this opportunity and write a guidebook about how to live longer and happier Pang Mapha-style. It can be used as an alternative way for people to maintain good health.
