The focus has shifted to Janie’s female pals, “the Angel Gang”, none of whom attended the couple’s press conference on Thursday – except Nana Rybena Intachai. Nana spoke on behalf of the rest of the gang, saying they’re all happy for Janie. “I just found out about this, but I respect her privacy. When she’s ready to share, she will. No one in the group was upset that she kept it to herself.”
Kachapa “Moddam” Tancharoen had implied on Instagram that Janie wanted all her friends at the press conference but that only Nana wanted to go. “I don’t know about the others,” Nana said, “but when she called me, I just went.” The others called her with congratulations.
Some party-poops are calling Janie a home-wrecker, though. “I don’t think it’s wrong,” Nana insisted. But some of the friends are awfully quiet on the social networks, and meanwhile Nantida has her own support group online. Her backers include A-Time Media boss Saithip Montrikul Na Ayudhaya, singer Anuwat “Boy Peacemaker” Sa-guansakpakde, actress Pijita “Jeab” Sirivejjapan and Puwanart “DJ Un” Kunpalin. DJ Un hit out hard, saying he was a big fan of Janie and he’d like to congratulate her, but he just couldn’t utter the words.
Chonsawat’s family has been quiet too – its publicity-shyness is criminally understandable – with the exception of his 18-year-old daughter Chontida “Pleang”, who has a nice picture online of her and her mum with the caption “This love is forever.”
And Janie’s quickly made some adjustments on the Web. She had reopened her Instagram account to the public, but now it’s closed off again. All you see is her profile as, “I’m Janie Thienphosuvan Asavahame” and this Not Welcome sign: “My Instagram is private. Sorry, fanclub and my friends.”
Making a hash of it
Way out in front in the hashtag race on Thursday was #MBHJA, the one Janie was using when her relationship with Ae was still top secret. She used it on her photos. Then it became the hashtag of choice for anyone sharing breaking gossip about her.
And entrepreneurs rarely miss a chance to turn hot hashtags to their advantage, so #MBHJA has been springing up as a lure to online stores. All these clever salesmen need to do is send out a tweet using the hash and invite shoppers to pop over to their address.
The newlyweds still haven’t revealed what the letters stand for, so guessing the code is also a popular game on the social media. Among the suggestions that might be right, or not:
