Glowing tribute to Her Majesty

The National Outstanding Mother Association of Bangkok, the Federation of Female Territory Defence Volunteers of Thailand, the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Thailand, the Kiat Ruam Mitr for Education Foundation, the Women’s Association for Women, the Women Relations Association and the Federation of Hakka Women Associations in Thailand were the organisers. Their chairpersons are Chansamorn Wattanavekin, MR Wannaporn Suknetr, Panida Chobwanitcha, Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul, Sirina Chokewattana Pawaroranwitthaya, Aris Lertthavornkij and Phetcharat Thepchatree.
The event also marked the conclusion of the “Seven Women Organisations Doing Good Deeds for Mother” project. The seven “best outstanding women” and 49 “outstanding women” received trophies and medals.
Chief organiser Chansamorn said the aim of the event was to share the seven groups’ latest developments in planning activities to honour Her Majesty under the Nava Maha Rachinee Sri Pandin theme. The activities began years ago to make merit for Her Majesty the Queen when she turned 77 and ended when she reached 80. 
More than 500 guests were in attendance, including members of the women’s groups.
After the award ceremony, singers performed for the Princess and the Ratree Nava Maha Rachinee Sri Pandin dance was performed to the accompaniment of the songs “Saeng Song Thai”, “Somdej” and “Kha Khue Khon Thai” by dancers dressed as heroes and heroines of the past. 
The show was designed to remind everyone that they are all Thais living under the kindness of Their Majesties the King and Queen, so they must heed their advice and follow their examples.
