The Sands has all the Dreamworks characters putting on shows and sharing breakfast

IF YOU happen to be in Macau, don’t miss the chance to breakfast with ogres, penguins, a panda and a dragon at the Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central on Cotai Strip.
We’re not talking about endangered species or mythical creatures here, but characters from movie studio DreamWorks’ blockbusters. This is “Shrekfast with the DreamWorks Gang!”
Every morning in the Shrek Ballroom, Shrek the ogre, Princess Fiona and Puss in Boots from the “Shrek” trilogy, Toothless and Hiccup from “How to Train Your Dragon”, Alex and friends from “Madagascar” and Po from “Kung Fu Panda” are on hand to interact with the crowd.
It might be the most upbeat breakfast ever.
Slather some jam on panda toast, munch on a panda bun and Shrek muffins, or get a “dragon egg” sunny-side up, and then march onstage to join your favourite characters close up.
The characters perform to booming theme songs, while backup dancers and commentators (speaking English and Cantonese) add to the photogenic fun.
Shrekfast is part of the “DreamWorks Experience” package at the Cotai Central, and guests staying at the adjacent Sheraton Macao with a breakfast package can upgrade to dine at Shrekfast for HK$100 (Bt400).
If you don’t get enough of the cartoon characters during breakfast, stick around until 4pm to catch the daily DreamWorks All Stars Parade through the Shoppes at Cotai Central mall. Thirty-two performers, including 12 of the animated characters, along with puppets and stilt-walkers, march in giddy procession along Level 1 to the restaurant Yum Cha. Then they’ll take up positions at Paradise Gardens at the Cotai Central for more interacting and photos, with performances every 15 minuets from 5 to 7pm.
Admission to the parade and Paradise Garden is free.
