ACTRESS JANIE THIENPHOSUVAN had no doubt had enough of the gossip and speculation as everyone else when she posted a photo of herself on Facebook on Tuesday holding a divorce decree. All the tweeted and shared “maybes” came to an abrupt end with graphic proof that she’d ended her marriage to Samut Prakan political scion Chonsawat “Ae” Asavahame after less than a year.
So everyone tweeted and shared the picture instead.
Tuesday was supposed to be the day she held a press conference to reveal what was going on, but it turned out to be the day of the Big Split. “I’d like to apologise to the press, but I’m not ready and not strong enough to talk about it yet,” Janie posted that evening on her new Instagram account – @janienineeleven. She thanked everyone who’d expressed concern. “I didn’t come out and say anything because I thought I could solve the problem myself. In the end I have decided – to begin my life again.” The photo with the document makes a nice set with the first picture she’d uploaded to the new Instagram address – on July 22, captioned “Begin Again”.
Meanwhile there’s still plenty of room for rumours, since questions remain unanswered about whether the actress was the victim of domestic violence and how long the couple had been living apart. It has been confirmed, however, that Janie must have moved out several months ago. Lawyer Pramarn Ruangwattanawanich, who helped her run the divorce through the court, said on Nation TV’s “Midnight” show that he’d been on the case “for about two months”. That adds weight to the rumour that the couple split up at least four months ago. Asked if Ae had roughed Janie up, Pramarn said, “She didn’t mention that in our discussion.”
Close friends of Jenny have confirmed that she’s wearing “bad” bruises, as glimpsed in leaked images, but we still don’t know how she got them. Considering at least that Ae and Jennie signed the divorce papers separately, as if to avoid seeing each other, it doesn’t look like they parted on good terms.
Pramarn disclosed that Janie asked only for the return of her Porsche 911 Turbo S, which is also in line with a rumour about her “losing” her car to Ae. Supposedly Ae swapped her Porsche for a more luxurious model and the new car is registered with him. The lawyer wasn’t sure how she’s supposed to get it back. “He could give her cash instead,” he suggested.
So, basically, we have the central issue resolved, some questions lingering, and Janie heading to the US for a month. She should be able to fly there on the wings of her fans’ support and sympathy. Her post-decree statement on Instagram quickly drew 185,000 likes and several thousand comments – many urging her to “fight on”.
Cris Horwang also posted a photo of the so-called “Angel Gang” of actress pals, of which she and Janie are members, and Janie’s sister Jane Thienphosuvan (yes, Janie and Jane) posted a picture of the sisters and their mum, Chamaiporn, with the caption “She’s my extraordinary girl!”
It was supposed to be a great marriage but it was over in a hurry. “Begin Again” indeed, Janie, and it’s nice to see you reunited with the family surname.
