No, it doesn’t seem juicy enough – until you remember that Pinky was being wagged about on everyone’s tongues a few years ago for having an affair with Sanchai Engtrakul, the husband of fellow actress Thanyares Engtrakul. Pinky hasn’t had a solid relationship with anyone since (not that that one was solid), but now here she is getting married, and right after Janie got divorced!
The lucky guy is Pattaya millionaire Itthi “Petch” Chavalittamrong (10 years her senior), the lucky place is the Dusit Thani Pattaya and the lucky date is September 12. Because Pinky is Muslim, an Islamic wedding ceremony will precede the nuptials at the hotel.
The couple spilled the news on Thursday at Channel 8 studios, where Pinky was attending the launch of new drama series “Waen Thonglueang”, in which she stars with “Naresuan” actor Lt-Colonel Wanchana Sawasdee.
Pinky said she and Petch met about three years ago when his firm, Petch Property Development, was pitching a condominium project in Pattaya. He was married to someone else at the time, but subsequently divorced and began dating Pinky “recently”. He said she gets along great with his only child.
Petch proposed during their trip to Germany – while in a pub watching the German team play Argentina in the World Cup final. As soon as their host nation triumphed, he went for the goal too and popped the question.
If Petch’s name rings a bell, you might recall reports of him dating yet another actress – Sarah Malakul Lane – but he swears that didn’t happen.
Okay, so that leaves just one other thing: Is Pinky pregnant? Nope, she said, but they are keen to have a little one.
Go on, Mike, “dad up”
Reviewing our notes, it seems that Mike Pirat might not be all that happy about model Sarah having a baby by him after all. One of Sarah’s friends has slammed him on Facebook, saying he refused to take responsibility until word leaked out about the baby and he had to nip public mumbling in the bud with a press conference.
One way or the other, his image has taken a hit and is listing to starboard. It’s bad news for his TV series “Rak Boon” on Channel 3, with a lot of folks saying they’ll stop watching. Actor Ananda Everingham doesn’t seem to be fretting about the upcoming series “Playful Kiss” he’s producing, though. The remake of the hit Taiwanese drama stars Mike and Sucha “Orm” Manaying, who were such a success together in “Full House”.
“I think ultimately this series’ success won’t depend on the actors alone but rather the story and the production as a whole,” Ananda says with bubbly optimism.
He backs Mike in his decision to take responsibility over the baby. “We shouldn’t be in a hurry to judge him because it’s only just happened. I think his responsibilities as a father are in some ways even more important than my series. My crew and I support him if he wants to focus on family matters first.”
