The group, led by Mongkol Santikul handed over the letter signed by more than 10,000 people over the past two months, to the People’s Service Centre at Government House.
The group, made up of Chonburi FC, Singhtarua, Buriram United, PTT Rayong and Bangkok United supporters, claim Worawi’s position has become untenable as Thai football has taken a downward turn under his administration.
“There have been management mistakes during Worawi’s regime. [As a result] Thai football fans have had to suffer poor performances by the national team. Some refereeing mistakes have gone unpunished, while punishment of players in the Thai Premier League has been unjust, causing tensions among supporters.
“Worawi’s qualification for the job is in doubt because he is also on the executive board of a political party. We’re aware that, legally, we cannot oust him from the job, but we sincerely hope the Thai FA president will reconsider his position.
“We want the Thai FA to be more transparent, accountable and treats everyone fairly,” said Mongkol.
