In his vicious attack on me, Isaac Stone completely distorts what I wrote. I didn’t say the world remained silent in response to Israel’s atrocities. I said Israel gets away with it, and that’s because it knows the American government will give it the military and economic aid it needs to continue its atrocities. And rarely are Israeli soldiers punished for atrocities. As I have noted before, in 1982, when Israel sent the Christian Lebanese militia into the Palestinian refugee camps, where they slaughtered 1,700 Palestinians, no was prosecuted for the killing spree. No one!
Stone tells us that a token number of Israelis have spoken out against their country’s atrocities. He fails to mention that polls have shown 98 per cent of Israelis supported the invasion of Gaza.
Finally he notes that I called Islamic extremists “totally barbaric”, but then says I refuse to condemn them. Dear reader, if I called you barbaric, would you think I was paying you a compliment?
