Why climate-change denial matters

Why climate-change denial matters

Re: "The world is warming? Show me the proof", Letters, July 22.

Whose proof should we believe? At least 97 per cent of the international scientific community – climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus – or some guy who is either a stooge or a pawn of the global petrochemical oligarchy and who is committed to disseminating disinformation about climate change for their own environmentally short-sighted economic purposes (www.climatesciencewatch.org/2007/01/03/new-report-from-union-of-concerned-scientists-documents-exxonmobils-disinformation-campaign).
For anyone who still believes in science, there is ample proof that the globe is warming. Given the much-reported scientific estimates of a minimum rise in sea level of 1.5 to 3 metres by 2100, Thailand has a lot to lose by listening to those who would have us do nothing to abate climate change. What kind of Thailand do you hope to leave for your grandchildren?
